Using the Project Update Wizard
With the Project Update Wizard, you can quickly add a fiscal year to all your existing projects with a spreadsheet import. Adding a fiscal year can help ensure that form due dates based on fiscal year are calculated correctly.
Your import spreadsheet must include columns with the following information. The columns must be in this order:
- Client ID. The client must already exist in CCH Axcess. New clients cannot be created with this import.
- Client sub-ID. If your firm does not use sub-IDs, leave this column blank.
- Project ID. The project must already exist in Workstream. New projects are not created with this import.
- Project Name. The project name combined with the project ID ensure that the correct projects are updated.
- Fiscal Year. The fiscal year is the year that fiscal year-based forms calculate from. The form can either be a standard form provided with Workstream or a custom form added by your firm.
To run the utility, do the following:
- Create the import spreadsheet according to the specifications above.

Click Utilities under Firm on the Application Links window in Dashboard.
- Click Workstream on the navigation pane.
- Click Project Update Wizard.
- Either drag your Microsoft® Excel import file to the wizard page, or click Browse to navigate to and select it.
- If the spreadsheet has more than one worksheet in it, select the correct worksheet in the Worksheet with project data list.
- Click Update.
- Review the update summary for any issues that occurred during the import.
- Click Finish.
