Downloading CCH Axcess Products

The Install window of Install and Update Manager provides the option to download products so they can be installed at a later time. The products displayed in the grid are based on the account number provided.

To download products, do the following:

  1. Select one or more products in the grid and click Download on the button bar. The Browse For Folder window displays.
  2. Note: If Always ask me where to save files is not selected on the Preferences window, the Browse for Folder window does not display. In this case, go to step 4. See Setting Preferences for more information.

  3. Accept the selected folder location or do one of the following:
    • Select another folder in the tree.
    • Click Make New Folder and enter a name in the Folder box.
  4. Click OK. The progress of the download displays in the Download Status column.
  5. If needed, you can do the following before the product has completely downloaded:
    • Pause. Changes the status to Paused. The download can be resumed from a paused state. If the current download is paused, the next pending product download will begin.
    • Stop. Stops the current in-progress download or cancels a download in pending state after confirmation.
    • Resume. Resumes the download and changes the status to show the download progress.
  6. Note: Downloads that are pending, paused, or in progress will be canceled if you close Install and Update Manager and accept the confirmation message.

  7. To install the product, do the following:
    1. Click the download folder icon in the Download Status column, or browse to the folder you selected in step 2.
    2. Double-click the application file.
  8. Note: If you download a product and then later select the product in Install and Update Manager and click Install, Install and Update Manager will begin the download process again.
